Emily Dickinson

The quirky but quaint poetry of Emily Dickinson speaks to me so profoundly that I feel as if her words are what I needed to say.  Her use of nature brings me closer to a sense of peace and balance and my own natural rhythms.  I love both of these poems because they speak of the brook and its journey to the sea.  I cannot help but identify with it and feel myself and my yearning to travel on this journey to the great big sea, the eternal.  To me these poems are self affirmations or confessions of my heart's desire.
