The Cave Chapel

This is a pastel sketch I did in this little village, Ucles, in Spain.  I went on a walk during a break at an English Camp I was working at in a beautiful old monastery.  On my walk I came across this cave at the top of the hill and it had a door on it.  It was actually a chapel.  I didn't get to go inside because it was locked up, but I sat outside and did this drawing.  It was a beautiful summer day and I could see the fields of sunflowers and this amazing golden monastery in the center of the village.

  1. It's beautiful and very ethereal. I would love to go inside of it too!
